Specializing in a skillful blend of Chinese and Japanese cuisines, this bistro is a culinary gem that offers everything from masterfully crafted sushi to bold, flavorful noodle dishes.
The menu beckons with an inviting array of standout dishes. Accompanying these offerings are vibrant salads such as the refreshing Vietnamese Salad bursting with fresh mango and crispy vermicelli, or the cool and crisp Crushed Cucumber Salad dressed in a house-made garlic chili sauce, each adding a fresh, invigorating touch to your meal. The raw bar selections like Uni - Japan and Flying Fish Roe bring a level of sophistication and freshness that truly elevates the dining experience.
Beyond the menu, Tengda’s dining atmosphere is a tasteful balance of elegance and warmth, making it an ideal setting for various occasions—from celebratory dinners to casual evenings out. The service enhances this ambiance, with staff who are friendly and attentive, striking just the right note between professionalism and genuine care. Diners consistently appreciate how promptly dishes arrive—hot, vibrant, and ready to enjoy without being rushed.
Customer experiences echo this deep satisfaction. One guest fondly recounts celebrating a special birthday at Tengda, highlighting the impeccable service that complements the already stellar food. Another traveler who stumbled upon the bistro en route back to Florida found themselves utterly captivated by the perfectly seasoned Crispy Duck, a dish that left a lasting impression strong enough to inspire a planned return visit to New York. While minor critiques have surfaced, such as the occasional delay during busy takeout times or a service quirk in ordering shrimp tempura, these do little to overshadow the consistent freshness of the fish and the creativity of the sushi rolls that keep patrons coming back.
In essence, Tengda Asian Bistro is more than just a meal—it’s a thoughtfully curated culinary journey through Asia’s rich flavors, served with an inviting smile in Katonah’s welcoming community. Whether you’re craving the refined artistry of sashimi, the heartiness of a noodle dish, or the zing of a freshly tossed salad, Tengda’s offerings promise a memorable gastronomic experience that enlivens all the senses.
Stopped in with a friend to celebrate her birthday. Most locals already know about Tengda’s exceptional reputation for great food so today I’d like to praise their service. They have the best staff! Attentive without hovering. The food was brought out promptly (I had to actually wait a minute for it to cool down which I prefer). They went above and beyond and actually inquired about my friends name so that when they brought out the dessert with a birthday candle, they could incorporate it into the birthday song. It says little details that make them stand out from the rest. Well, that that and exceptional sushi
We ate here while traveling back home to Florida. We didn't want to stop in the big city and I had been craving Asian cuisine. This place hit all the marks. The Crispy Duck blew my mind. Perfectly seasoned and the memory of it still makes me salivate. Now, I am planning a trip to NY and I had to make sure this place was still open for a return visit. Its a classy place so don't expect a kids menu and a low receipt. Still, worth it to add to your vacation budget. If I had to grasp for a downside, it would be the parking. Too much competition!
There's always a first time. First restaurant who served shrimp tempura app without any veg. Three individual pieces of shrimp tempura. The host said you have to ask for them. What ever! Overall the fish is fresh and the special rolls were delicious. But for a full 5 stars, everything needs to be on point and flawless, even in menu creation.
Consistently good food, friendly service. The specialty rolls and great lunch specials during the week keep me going back.
Great food, OK service (if you are doing takeout on a busy weekend and they say twenty minutes know it may take considerably more), not notable for atmosphere.
